LocalHomi (localhomi.com) is run by CloudHomi. This page explains what we collect, why, and who else is involved. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use advertising trackers.

If you list a business

  • Shown publicly: the business details you give us (name, category, description, address unless you choose to hide the street, phone, contact email if you add one, website, hours) and any logo or cover photo you upload.
  • Kept private: your own name and email. We use them to review your listing, to contact you about it, and to send you sign-in codes. They're never shown on LocalHomi.
  • Pictures: we re-save every upload as a new image file, which removes hidden camera data such as location.
  • Map location: we look up your address with the US Census Bureau's geocoder (and, if it can't find it, OpenStreetMap) so customers can find you with "Near me".
  • You can change or remove your listing any time from For businesses, or ask us to.

If you're looking for a business

  • "Near me": your browser asks before sharing your location, and it's used only inside your browser to sort businesses by distance. It isn't sent to us or stored.
  • A town or ZIP you type is sent to our server and looked up with OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. We don't keep it with anything that identifies you.
  • Maps on business pages come from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.
  • If you report a listing or ask about an ad, we receive what you write in the form.

Cookies and logs

LocalHomi sets one cookie, and only for business owners who sign in, to keep them signed in. Our server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security and to stop abuse.

Who helps us run it

Our server and email provider (Resend, for sign-in codes) process data on our behalf. The services named above (US Census, OpenStreetMap, Google Maps) receive only what's needed for their part.
